Outdoor Noodling on Monday, January 9, 2017

For a little while, it got warm enough today for Banjo the Dog and I to go outside and do a little noodling in the ‘rolling banjo practice studio.’ We went to Montgomery’s Shakespeare Festival Park, parked in our usual spot, and spent 40 minutes or so not doing anything very orderly in terms of practice, but just, well, noodling. I played ‘Devil’s Dream’ pretty well, almost–almost!–to VE quality, and that will come pretty soon, I think (maybe tomorrow, if the weather is reasonable).

When I viewed the video, I see that for the first 30 minutes or so, I have it aimed such that my head is cut off, and I’ve pretty much decided that the ‘high eye’ is too high–I’ll work on getting it just right tomorrow. In the meantime, here’s the work we did today outside. Watch this space for developments!
