On board the flight to SLC now. My new glasses were in the mailbox when I got home last night. They're supposed to be black rims, dang it. I need them to see, and my old ones are too broken down to wear anymore. 😡

Banjo the Dog: today's designated worry wart. #banjothedog

Me: "Why are you so tired this morning? You slept all night." Banjo the Dog: "Worrying is exhausting." Me: "Worrying? What does a little dog like you have to worry about?" Banjo the Dog: "I worry about everything when you're gone." Me: "Well, don't do that! Worrying about stuff is a stupid waste of time and energy. Banjo the Dog: "Nietzsche said worry is what the powerless substitute for action." Me: "Nietzsche, huh? I'm impressed. Did you learn that in dog college?" Banjo the Dog: "I don't remember." Me: "So what are you worried about?" Banjo the Dog: "I know you're running every day. I worry that you'll get hit by a truck and then I'll have to go to dog prison." Me: "Dog prison? What's that?" Banjo the Dog: "The pound." Me: "Okay, well, you've got two 'won't happens' there. First, I won't get hit by a truck." Banjo the Dog: "You won't?" Me: "Very definitely not. Besides, I haven't run in 3 days." Banjo the Dog: "Really?! That's good!" Me: "Actually, not so much. But even if I do get hit by a truck, which I won't, you wouldn't go to the pound. You'd come live here at Mama's house." Banjo the Dog: "Oh, that's right. I forgot about that." Me: "Better?" Banjo the Dog: "I guess. I can tell you for sure after I sleep on it awhile." Me: "Okay, then." #conversationswithbanjothedog
